Oregon’s 2013 recruiting class: The Trenches


BY GEORGE ARTSITAS — Another year, another solid haul in the trenches for the Ducks.

Oregon was able to come away with three ESPN300 draft prospects to fill out their offensive and defensive line. But don’t take it from me, why don’t you meet them yourself.

Here’s a little introduction of each of the guys for you:

Evan Voeller, 6-5 263, OG

A local guy out of West Linn High School, Oregon….. An ESPN300 memebr, resting solidly at 193……Ninth best offensive gaurd in the country…… No.2 recruit in the state along with fellow future Duck, running back Thomas Tyner.

Little Something: Dallen Voeller, his older brother, played at Oregon as a walk on.

Torrodney Prevot, 6-3, 201, DE

Another big time recruit out of Texas — Houston to be specific….. Fleet of foot with a 4.67 40-yd dash…. Played in All-American Game…. In ESPN 300 and 19th best defensive end in the draft….Flipped form USC to Oregon on signing day

Little Something: He was only .01 second slower than the fastest DE time in the nation.

Cameron Hunt, 6-4, 267, OG

Another SoCal recruit from Corona, California….Flipped from Cal to Oregon on signing day…. 15th best offensive guard, 31 best player in all of California.. Part of ESPN 300

Little Something: Was named Lineman of the Year by the Los Angeles Times.

John Mundt, 6-5, 235, TE

Out of Modesto, California….. Tenth best Tight End in the 2013 class…… One of the faster tight end in the class with a 4.76 40-yd dash….. Killer athlete all the way around with a vertical jump of 33.9.

Little Something:  He has the highest SPARQ Rating out of any tight end in the nation with a (the undecipherable rating of a) 114.57.

Matt Wogan, 6-2, 195, K

From Indian Trail, North Carolina……No. 4 kicker in the nation…..Had only one offer and it was from the Ducks…..Gave up a potential soccer carrer for football.

Little Something:  Is also a capable punter and rated No. 11 in the nation by Chris Sailer Kicking.

Joe Walker, 6-3, 230, OLB

Comes from Palos Verdes, California…..A junior college transfer……will be on campus for spring workouts….will challenge Rodney Hardick and Anthony Wallace for playing time at outside linebacker immeditaley….

Little Something: Turned down Texas A&M and a chance to play with Johnny “Football” Manziel for the Ducks.

Jake Pisarcik, 6-3, 278, OG

Comes from Medford, New Jersey…… Only recieved one offer and it was from the Ducks….Considered the 27th best player in the state of New Jersey….Father, Joe Piscarik, is a former NFL quarterback.

Little Something: Furthest East player to recuited by the Ducks since before 2006. Our usable records don’t go further then that.

Elijah George, 6-3, 239, OT

Out of Las Vegas, Nevada……Very fast, running a sub 5-second 40-yd dash….Considered ninth best recruit in the state of Nevada….Only offered four scholarships from Duke, UNLV, SMU and the Ducks….Could develop into a two-way lineman

Little Something: Has the fastest 40-yd dash time for a offensive tackle, clocking in at 4.93.
